Nov. 19th, 2013 07:44 pmRobot Name: Great Paladin Ideigi (Caster Circle)
Robot Description: Through forming the Caster Circle, a spell circle developed over millennia of study, Ideigi and its pilot are able to tap into the nigh-endless (though regulated) power the dimension of raw magic that was discovered by the wizards long ago. Floating behind Ideigi, the Caster Circle delivers enough power that Ideigi is now capable of free flight, whilst enhancing the mighty machine's existing arsenal of spells to whole new levels. They become:
Nova Punch: Gathering light around either arm, Ideigi hardens and solidifies it with magic, creating a hardened shell. Then throwing out its arm, Ideigi launches a stream of power behind this shell, a beam of light that propels it further, harder, and faster than the original Solar Punch.
Sentinel Shield: Using the gem as a projector in place of a physical focal point, Ideigi summons forth an intense energy barrier, several times more powerful than the guardian shield, if suffering some of the same basic flaws. To compensate for this however, the shape of barrier can be manipulated, so long as it continues to originate from the Shield itself. Furthermore, the magic of the shield can be used remotely, though this leaves Ideigi itself unable to move as it transmits the magic.
Corona Edge: Wielding the Paladin Blade in hand, Ideigi envelopes it immense fire magic, burning hotter and more powerful than ever! However, rather than fling out the heat as before, the Corona Edge instead focuses, and then extends it, allowing the fiery blade to reach lengths longer than battleships.
Truth’s Sight: Less of a combat ability than previous powers, Truth’s Sight allows its caster, and thus Ideigi, to pierce their gaze through obstacles, now selectively and by the user's choice. Obstacles will ‘fade’ in Ideigi’s view, but remain visible in its eyes, so as to not deceive its own pilot. Whilst able to reveal all now, it has a greater, personal strain on the pilot than before, though brief flickers are simple enough.
Cyclone Strike: Summoning the powerful vortex of the Paladin Strike, Ideigi wraps it around the Paladin Blade, letting it determine size from a small cyclone, to a roaring tornado. With one swing of its blade, Ideigi can then throw the swirling winds, leaving them to spin towards a target for several dozen seconds, before fading away.
Shining Body: Ideigi's greatest power, and its most dangerous. By using Ideigi's body as a focal point, Richard can draw on far greater volumes of magic, bathing the robotic paladin in light. Bathed in this power, whilst it can use no other spell, Ideigi's physical abilities increase exponentially. Speed, Strength, Dexterity, they all rise amazingly so, leaving Ideigi something perhaps more at home in a shonen martial arts anime. In addition, its touch acts as an automatic shining seal, so that in finishing the Demon Kings off, it does not need to leave itself open.
There is, however, a small issue, in that Ideigi's durability and ability to take damage does not actually rise with this. At all. Any effect of the power that should enable this, is in fact counterbalanced by the sheer stress that is otherwise incurred on the frame by putting such power through it.
